This system has been in use for 14 months and is holding up Great!! After getting the rig and practicing with it and qualification I started wearing it. 5 days a week in various conditions and climates it does great. My first thought was how comfortable will this thing be, well on more than one occasion I have had to wear it for 18+ hours and had no problems at all. The main thing that I was looking for was a way to carry all the necessities on my person in a plain clothes situation. This system is right on the mark. I carry everything I need and a little extra. After wearing it for about a year I have noticed it changing a little. I have a few stray rubber bands and well worn Velcro, but it's still in good shape.

Recently I purchased the Boltaron Composite Holster and the Edge Weapon Sheath. To take something that is good and make it better just shows the quality and support your company has for us. This makes drawing and re-holstering a snap. The Edge weapon sheath make it possible to carry a folding knife in the open position for quick deployment of the tool. The TRUSS Rig is Great. Thanks for taking the time to make such a quality holster system.

I purchased two (TRUSSs), one for me, and one for my wife (who is an undercover). I wear mine when performing close personal protection, and I have found it very easy to use. Access to the weapon is easy and natural when you become used to it.

As for my wife. She wears the cross draw because she is often in the car. She has no complaints about comfort or wearability...to be honest, my wife loves it. The strong side draw is not practical for her.

All in all, it is one of the best purchases, dollar for dollar, that I have made in years for tactical gear. I love your product, and it is everything that you promised it would be. As you know, that is not always the case with 'new' tactical gear. I have drawers full of failed experiments. Keep up the good work

Hey guys, It was great meeting you...  I’ve worn the holster everyday since I got it.  I’ve run with it.  I’ve qualified with it.  Hell I even took my daughter horse back riding with it.  I’ll tell you, its so comfortable that  half of the time, I have to check and see if its still on.  I just taught a class while wearing shorts and a short sleeve button down.  I loaded the holster with every slot full of gear.  My peers were amazed when I removed all the gear and set it on the bench.  This was after running and jumping on a dash and shoot demo.  Great holster guys.  I’ll write back in a month with an evaluation.

Finally, I have used both of my TRUSS' holsters at this point.  I have taken a couple plane trips with them, as well as used them during surveillances.  I can say without a doubt that this is the most comfortable and pragmatic holster I have ever used when it comes to sitting for long periods.  It is also very handy when one does not wish to wear an additional concealing garment, especially in hot weather.  The band does an outstanding job of venting heat, with the result that it is not nearly as warm as I thought it would be.  The suspenders are a huge boon and the thing stays in place for me every time, despite being loaded with a Glock 21, two spare Glock 21 mags, an airweight ASP baton, a Surefire E2D flashlight and an Emerson CQC-11.  When properly loaded and worn, it does not print with all this gear and allows the wearer to meander around without the usual tell-tale signs of being armed.
As I said before, this is one hell of a product you have here, amigo.  It is one I really wish I had thought of first. Nice job.

When operating in a combat zone I am not always able to wear full body armor and utilize tactical weapons systems.  Operations often require concealed carry and it is essential to have a comfortable and completely concealed rig that will securely hold various weapons systems.  The TRUSS will fit over soft armor when that is an option.  The TRUSS offers excellent weapons retention for operations in crowds or when contact is likely.  I highly recommend the TRUSS for any professional who must carry concealed regularly and for extended periods of time.

Tonight I received my TRUSS system.  For a long time I have been looking for a concealed way to hold ALL my gear.  I have tried every system out there.  Your TRUSS system is a thing of beauty.  Incredibly well made and well thought out.  Leaves every other concealed holster system in the dust. Thanks for making such a great product. Pic of TRUSS for EMT-CCW

The TRUSS system is by far the best deep cover system on the market. There is nothing else on the market that allows you to carry the same amount of equipment at the same comfort level with ease and speed of accessibility. I wore other systems for a several years before being introduced to the TRUSS. I've been wearing it everyday for about a year now and will buy another
one when I wear-out this one.

I have operated both OConUS and ConUS, various climates and venues, covert and overt, Marine infantry and recon, state certified law enforcement uniform, undercover and tactical ops, both military and civilian detention experience, personal security details both military and civilian.  I have trained troops in all of the above.  I have used and trained others in the use of personal, projectile, impact, improvised, bladed and flexible weapons along with explosives and various restraining devises. I have owned and operated multiple martial arts studios and trained thousands of civilians, law enforcement officers and military personnel, and now continue to assist in furthering the mission in any way that I can.

I have seen, used, tested and own a lot of gear.  For the undercover law enforcement mission, I have seen nothing that comes even close to the TRUSS.  Not only does the individual have all needed gear securely at their fingertips, but also is able to blend with the environment and maintain surprise and stealth.  From a training point of view, the positive transfer of previous learned skill sets allows the operator with a minimum amount of time to develop a confidence in the use of the TRUSS and the deployment of tools.  This confidence in the gear rolls over into the mental and physical attitude of the fighter.  Even though the gear does not make the person, it definitely does not hurt to use top notch quality equipment to assist oneself with life and death decisions.  As a grunt, it also never hurts that your system is the most reasonably priced I have seen.  I could continue, but I have written enough.  Good job designing gear for the mission, by someone who does the mission, everyday.  When the time comes, be willing, Frank

With nearly 14 years of law enforcement, both in uniform and plainclothes details, this is the best concealment holster by far. I have tried numerous concealment holsters. Each concealment holster has its advantages and disadvantages but the Specgear holster offers comfort along with the ability to carry other gear while not having to wear an outer garment. I would highly recommend it. Kevin

Dear SpecGear, In 9 months of critical evaluation of your Truss, I must say its the best thing thats happened to the deep cover concealment industry. I have used the Truss on a daily basis as my duty rig and also in various training venues to include: a military style obstacle course, defensive measures/tactics, CQB..etc all without incurring any loss of equipment. I trust the TRUSS to help me bring my equipment to the fight. Great product...keep up the good work.

I have been wearing the TRUSS on the job for the last 2 months.  I am very pleased with it.  It is the most comfortable system I have worn in the last 4 years that I have worked under cover.  The MAJOR attribute that the system provides for me is that I can carry my duty weapon, 2 magazines, my surefire light, handcuffs, knife and handcuff key all with one system.  It is very low profile, I can carry all the above described equipment using the TRUSS under any shirt without anything printing.  Your excellent design also provides for EASY access to all of the above described system for rapid deployment under any circumstance.  I used to wear a shoulder holster with magazine carrier on duty.  I was initially concerned that the TRUSS was not a cross draw system, and would provide slower deployment of equipment.  After 1 week of wearing the TRUSS, and some practice, I have adjusted to its use and am very comfortable with being able to deploy what I need.  The fact that everything is readily available in one place is worth adjusting to its use.  WELL DONE SIR on a fine product!  I would highly reccommend its use to anyone working undercover.

Sorry that I am so late with this, but here goes.  I wore the TRUSS holster on my last personal trip.  I found it to be comfortable in carrying all of the items that are required to be carried by us.  It also gave me the ability to wear a short sleeve shirt without a jacket which was much more comfortable due to the heat.  I realized that you do need to wear a T shirt under it or it will cause some discomfort to the skin.  Once I got the shoulder straps adjusted to my body, they were great.  I found that moving the part attached to the main portion of the holster closer together kept the straps from slipping off the shoulder.  It is a great holster to meet our requirements.  Obviously, snaps on the shirt give a person better and quicker access.  I almost wonder if a cross draw might be in order. You did a great job in designing this ED and I think that it will be a successful product.

ED,  I JUST WANTED TO TAKE A MOMENT AND COMMEND YOU ON YOUR FINE PRODUCT "THE TRUSS".  AS YOU KNOW I RECENTLY RETUNED FROM A DEPLOYMENT TO IRAQ WITH FIGHTING FIRST MARINE DIVISION IN WESTERN AL ANBAR PROVINCE. WHEN I SAW YOUR TRUSS SYSTEM IT REMINDED ME OF THE "RACK" SYSTEMS WE USED IN IRAQ TO CARRY ADDITIONAL MAGAZINES AND GEAR. AS YOU ALSO KNOW, WHILE WORKING IN A CONCEALED ENVIRONMENT, GEAR MANAGEMENT IS EVERYTHING. IF A PIECE OF GEAR IS NOT READILY AVAILABLE, WHAT GOOD IS IT? YOUR SYSTEM ALLOWS ME TO COVERTLY AND SAFELY CARRY ALL MY EQUIPMENT WHILE NOT ALARMING THE "SHEEPLE" AROUND ME. THE THREAT HAS NOT DIMINISHED AND UNTIL IT DOES, STRONG MEN ARMED MUST ENSURE THE PEACE. YOUR TRUSS HELPS ME DO THAT. I LOVE THE DAMN THING!!! GODSPEED AND SEMPER FIDELIS! I received my TRUSS from Spec Gear and I've been using it for a few months now. In my 16 years of Law Enforcement experience, I have not come accross a better peice of equipment for undercover work or concealed carry of a firearm. Not only does the TRUSS hide away my gun, but it also carries other tradecraft tools that previously had to be retrieved from elsewhere if needed. The other added, yet unexpected benefit of the TRUSS is the back support it provides. I would recommend the TRUSS to other Law Enforcement Officers who need to carry important gear without others know it.

From: Gary H.

I was skeptical of "another" holster system because I have tried so many concealed carry rigs. After just one day I was convinced that the "TRUSS" is without a doubt the best system on the market. I have recommended the Truss to anyone I know that has a need to carry a concealed weapon. It is the most accessible and comfortable I have ever used. I can carry all of my gear on my person rather than settling for just the bare necessities. I have wore the Truss for extended periods of time without discomfort or stress added to my body. Hands down the Truss is the best!

This holster system is very easy to be fitted...plenty of adjustments...very comfortable.  The undercover officer is able to carry the loaded firearm, 2 spare magazines, handcuffs, and other tools such as a tactical folding knife or a fixed blade knife, handcuff keys, flashlight, or other items such as badge and credentials.  Only your individual needs and imagination limit what items can possibly be carried securely in this holster system.

From a weapon retention standpoint, this holster system is outstanding.  The weapon is always ...in the officer's power zone which affords maximum strength for weapon retention techniques...great body core protection from impact injury. rest of your tools you're now literally able to carry in your "tool chest".  If the weapon is carried strong side draw, there is very minimal training required to adjust for the weapon not being carried strong side on the hip.  Excellent!! [It also offers] minimal training [required] with this holster system, and some minor clothing alterations to the buttons on your shirts, a rather rapid draw can be achieved by the user.
I am truly impressed with this holster system and I am amazed that the user can even run for a couple of miles with the confidence that all of your equipment is secure and the only noise heard is a minor rattle form the firearm itself.  This is an amazing system with a lot of thought and planning put into delivering a quality deep undercover type holster system for your deep undercover police officers.  They can finally go undercover with the safety and security they need.
